Summary
The Senior Automation Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, development, implementation, and support of automation technology, crucial for facilitating seamless operations among customers, suppliers, and RNDC. By performing the following duties, they ensure that objectives are not just met but exceeded.
In this role, you will
- Contribute as a key member of a team of analysts and engineers, participating in architecture, demand delivery, code reviews, release management, implementation, support, presentations, and meetings.
- Mentor fellow engineers, fostering ongoing process improvements within the team.
- Explore and implement innovative automation solutions to enhance system efficiency.
- Design and rigorously test automation equipment and processes to ensure optimal performance.
- Program new automated components to align with organizational needs and objectives.
- Identify and address quality issues promptly, generating comprehensive reports for analysis.
- Drive the elimination of defects and errors within product and software development processes.
- Collaborate closely with other business units to streamline operations and enhance automation effectiveness.
- Document system configurations, updates, and procedures meticulously, providing critical insights for IT staff and management.
- Manage demand and projects effectively by overseeing IT staff, coordinating with vendors, and liaising with internal users during system implementations. This may involve organizing meetings, presenting information, and procuring necessary supplies and equipment.
What you bring to RNDC
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related Engineering field preferred.
- Five or more years of relevant experience in automation engineering.
- Three or more years of specific experience in the focus area of automation engineering.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling five to seven years.
