Reporting to our VP Sales, this role manages a team of sales professionals serving our customers in the Eugene, Oregon market
 
As an RNDC District Manager, you will lead a sales team to drive strategic sales initiatives designed to achieve corporate and supplier objectives for assigned market / customer and channel. We achieve goals of supplier brands through effective planning and sales execution, managing a stellar team of sales representatives. The District Manager’s job is to support the business through collaboration, communication, hiring, coaching, and execution to maximize performance.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
District Managers plan their own time and activities as well as those of their assigned personnel to ensure achievement of company and supplier sales and objectives by:
Developing monthly programs and adhering to forecast data.
Establishing for assigned personnel specific, measurable and achievable objectives compatible with company and supplier priorities.
Knowing and analyzing supplier brands, company sales organization, the assigned marketplace trends, competitive wholesalers and assigned supervisory areas.
Identifying on an ongoing basis distribution gaps and developing a strategy to overcome issues.
Utilizing available resources to maximize results within area of responsibility. 
Supervising
District Managers direct the execution of the business plan to achieve financial objectives for assigned market / customer and channel by:
Training all personnel in accordance with the programs and procedures of the company’s training system.
Working with assigned personnel to establish sales programs and strategies.
Providing leadership, guidance and support needed to attain the commitment and motivation of all assigned personnel.
Conducting meetings as needed to effectively communicate objectives, programs, strategies, policies and procedures to assigned personnel.
Ensuring that assigned personnel adhere to the federal, state and local laws and regulations governing the sales of alcoholic beverage products.
Organizing
District Managers organize the structure and utilization of all assigned supervisory areas to ensure achievement of company and supplier objectives by:
Attracting, developing and thus retaining sales and management teams.
Organizing assigned personnel schedules to concentrate on in-field activities.
Ensuring that the structure of all sales territories provide the account coverage and service frequency levels consistent with actual potential sales volume and reasonable customer requirements.
Communicating
District Managers serve as information resources for, and conduits between, the field and senior management by:
Providing specific and current information on supplier, market, sales and merchandising results and/or problems.
Formulating recommendations that will strengthen the sales and merchandising results for supplier brands.
Submitting required reports promptly and accurately as directed by management.
Maintaining reliable, up-to-date sales performance and personnel records.
Imparting knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the sales function to sales team.
Maintaining and developing positive business relationships with suppliers and customers, including providing them with requested business reviews and information.
Communicating all sales issues and opportunities for their respective area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry
Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and leadership skills
Proven track record of successful sales and management skills
Deep knowledge of company products and channels
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook
Ability to work with management, direct reports, and customers throughout the business and industry at every level
The ability to train and develop assigned personnel
High School Diploma, or equivalent
Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and clean DMV record
 
Desired Qualifications
3+ years of experience managing sales teams.
8+ years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry.
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience with Sales tools like Diver and ReportHub.
Industry certifications to include: CSW, CSS, WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, Sake Specialist

Summary

RNDC is looking for talented and energetic District Managers to join our growing Sales team. The District is responsible for field execution of sales initiatives, the training and development of Sales Representatives as well as execution of all sales/promotional programs. 

 

In this role, you will

  • Develop, train, and direct sales reps to achieve sales goals, and placement objectives and to ensure company standards are met.  
  • May conduct strategic sales negotiations with key accounts.  
  • Survey market area to detect business trends and opportunities for new products or new applications for existing products.  
  • Assist in the development of sales forecasts. Plan for sales activities by forecasting conditions, defining objectives and strategies, and securing resources.  
  • Control and manage sales performance by measuring and reporting results, evaluating, and correcting performance and administering policies and procedures.  
  • Organize team by structuring the territories, delegating work, and staffing positions.  
  • Provide leadership in making decisions, developing personnel, communicating with, and motivating staff.  
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings for the purpose of disseminating supplier information, product, and sales training and to obtain feedback on the effectiveness, efficiency and relevance of the sales and promotional activities.  
  • Job duties include working nights and weekends on promotional activities and other account activities. 

 

What you bring to RNDC

  • Four-year college degree, preferred.
  • One to two years of management experience in adult beverage industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and order processing systems or the aptitude to learn.
  • Requires a current, valid state driver's license, ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements as defined by the Company and Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and will occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
