Summary

 

The Driver/Warehouse HI is responsible for providing delivery service to customers, providing a communication link between customers and operations management, operating and maintaining assigned vehicle(s), and maintain vehicle and customer records. This position is responsible for loading and/or driving over established route to deliver wine, spirits, beer and non-alcoholic beverage products while completing appropriate paperwork.

In this role, you will

 

  • Operates assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner. Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, customer forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management.
  • Performs minor maintenance tasks on assigned vehicle(s) as required, and cleans, inspects, and services assigned vehicle. Operates equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse product
  • Obtains customer signature or collects payment for goods delivered and delivery charges and returns all delivery receipts to appropriate supervisor at the end of the shift.
  • Assists in loading and unloading truck manually.
  • Delivers merchandise to assigned customers in a prompt, safe, professional, and friendly manner while giving top priority to taking care of customer's needs.
  • Maintains company vehicle in an orderly manner, performs daily inspections and complete DOT mandated paperwork, and maintains preventive maintenance for company vehicle.
  • Complete all daily paperwork and computer data entry promptly and accurately to support the delivery and billing functions of the company.
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Drives and operates lifting equipment to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick-up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to loading station or stacks into trucks.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in.

What you bring to RNDC

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must have 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license.

Skills/Abilities: (These are required to perform the key responsibilities of the job with or without accommodations) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals. Must have a friendly demeanor and excellent customer service. This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Must have a keen sense of direction and know how to read a map and navigate through the delivery area. Must have the desire to work as part of a team and an enthusiasm for learning.

This compensation information is a good faith estimate and provided in accordance with California state law. Similar positions located outside of this jurisdiction may not necessarily receive the same compensation. The salary generally starts at $29 and is a combination of base salary plus monthly earned commissions if applicable. The salary is an estimate based on an applicant’s skills and experience.
